Walnut and Almond Power Balls


There are times when you need a little energy boost.  When all that is required is something small and nourishing to pop into your mouth and to power up and continue the day.  In these circumstances turn to these little energy balls and get your va va vroom on!  This is the basic recipe but you can be creative and add superfoods such as maca, lucuma, spirulina or chlorella to give yourself som extra pep in your step.


Ingredients – makes 5 balls

50g walnuts

50g blanched almonds

5-6 tsp cocoa powder

3 medjool dates pitted and chopped

1.5 tbsp agave

pinch sea salt

ground almonds and cocoa powder for dusting



Place the nuts in a food processor and grind until you achieve a sandy consistency.  Add the cocoa powder and salt and process for a few seconds then add all the remaining ingredients and process until a dough begins to form.

Take 2 tablespoons of dough and shape into a ball and then dust with either ground almonds or cocoa.  These little energisers will keep for up to a week in the fridge until you are ready to use.
